I am so excited to be writing this blog post. It's official: after one whole year of work, Mission:Libre is finally ready to go! The past year has often been difficult, but I think it’s absolutely been worth it for what Mission:Libre has to offer free software.
It’s time to get down to some real work. This month, I’ll be turning my attention to getting Mission:Libre and free software out there in front of as many young people as I can. I'll be starting to reach out to other youth organisations and asking their help to share Mission:Libre with teens who might want to join our community.
It’s a festive time for Mission:Libre. Later this month, Mission:Libre will be holding several online celebrations both for teens who are interested in free software as well as office hours for adults who want to meet me and learn more about Mission:Libre’s work. More information about those will be available on the events page soon.
Finally, you can also expect the first edition of Libre, Mission:Libre’s magazine on free software for teens. The first issue is a special one for beginners, full of useful information for people new to free software and ready to give it a go. You can see the full table of contents here.
Mission:Libre depends on you for success. I encourage you to tell everyone about Mission:Libre. Tell your friends, tell your classmates, tell your co-workers! The more people join our community, the more fun it will be for everyone. You can also help Mission:Libre by making a donation here.
This is just the beginning. Next month, I'll be doing even more. Check back here in a month to see what’s in store!
Let’s go!
This is part of a series of monthly updates about Mission:Libre’s work.
